The Story

The legendary white wine of Château Margaux offers vibrant aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, white peach, pear, acacia blossom, fresh herbs, and flinty minerality. Rich yet impeccably refined, it combines crystalline acidity, exceptional precision, remarkable depth, and an extraordinarily long, elegant finish with world-class aging potential.

Food Pairing: Pair with lobster, seared scallops, grilled turbot, oysters, roast chicken, creamy seafood pasta, goat cheese, or butter-poached asparagus.

99 Points -

Opulent and delicious with lots of green mango and pineapple aromas and flavors. Smoked cream and green apples. Showing salty, briny character, it’s dense but not heavy, flavorful and very long. Pear-drop candy at the end. Pure sauvignon blanc, as always. Rich yet lively and wonderful. Feels like a great Montrachet.

97 Points -

The Grand Vin 2022 Château Margaux checks in as 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc that's pulled from just 40% of the total production. Brought up in new barrels, it has a terrific pH of 3.61, which is low for the vintage, and an alcohol of 14.3%, with the highest level of tannins since 2010. It brings another level of purity, elegance, and finesse, and it is just a sensational, legendary Margaux in the making. Crème de cassis blue fruits, spring flowers, lead pencil, and violets all define the bouquet, and it's full-bodied on the palate, with a layered, seamlessly textured, flawlessly balanced profile.

96 Points -

Smells ripe full of green apples, peach, orange, lime and lemon curd. Intense, depth and weight straight away with mouthwatering acidity, razor like, supporting the texture. There’s fatness but because of the acidity it doesn't stand out in a bad way, and the acidity is sharp and cooling which comes across as quite thrilling. Well worked, round with both drive and tension. Gorgeous white stone and citrus fruits, delicate but deep and sustained with shots of sharp lemon, sweet peach, blood orange and grapefruit. Fresh and fun. A success.

93 Points -

The 2022 Pavillon Blanc has turned out elegantly, wafting from the glass with aromas of white flowers, boxwood, pear, mango and lemongrass. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and layered, it exhibits good depth at the core, bright acids and an attractively mordant finish. This has tightened up in bottle, to the extent that the warmth of the vintage would likely only be visible in a comparative tasting with a cooler year.
