The Story
A magnificent and highly distinctive artisanal Tuscan red wine originating from the unique mineral-rich, iron-bearing soils of Fosdinovo, right on the border of Tuscany and Liguria. Crafted almost entirely from Merla (a rare, ancient local biotype of Canaiolo Nero) alongside a touch of Massaretta, it undergoes fermentation in concrete vats followed by aging in large Slavonian oak casks. The result is an incredibly elegant and layered profile, opening with savory aromas of leather, fresh soil, espresso, and graphite that seamlessly melt into a palate bursting with juicy red fruits like raspberries, cranberries, and wild strawberries, beautifully balanced by crisp natural acidity and firm, well-integrated tannins.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with roasted duck breast, savory pork loin, slow-cooked wild boar ragù, or a selection of medium-to-long aged cheeses.
