Tenuta Monteti 'Monteti' 2012 is an exceptional, structural, and beautifully matured "Super Tuscan" red wine that highlights the incredible potential of French varietals grown in the coastal hills of Maremma. Composed of a distinct blend of 55% Petit Verdot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc, this flagship cuvée underwent 18 months of aging in French oak barriques followed by extensive bottle cellaring. In the glass, it pours an intense, deep ruby red with subtle garnet reflections on the rim. The nose is highly complex and fully integrated, offering an expressive bouquet of blackberries, wild blueberries, and fresh roses, intricately layered with sophisticated notes of leather, graphite, Mediterranean scrub (garrigue), roasted coffee, and sweet tobacco. On the palate, this full-bodied masterpiece is enveloping and linear, displaying a remarkably fine, velvety tannic texture and a well-preserved core of dark fruit balanced by an elegant mineral line, leading into a long, harmonious, and persistent finish.
Food Pairing: This mature and robust red pairs magnificently with slow-roasted wild boar, grilled ribeye steak with rosemary-infused butter, braised venison shanks, rich duck ragù, or aged hard cheeses like Pecorino Toscano and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
