The Story

A magnificent and robust central Italian red wine crafted by the Spinelli family under their premium Terra d'Aligi estate label. Named "Tatone"—an affectionate traditional Abruzzese term for "Grandfather"—this wine honors the strength, wisdom, and deep heritage of the region. Sourced from choice hillside vineyards in the province of Chieti and crafted from 100% Montepulciano grapes, it undergoes careful vinification before aging patiently for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by an additional three months of refinement in the bottle. It displays a deep, intense ruby red profile with subtle garnet highlights, bursting with an expansive bouquet of ripe blackberries, dark plums, and sweet marasca cherries, elegantly layered with sophisticated notes of licorice, tobacco, and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied, structured, and incredibly velvety, framed by robust yet remarkably smooth tannins and a long, warming, fruit-driven finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with slow-roasted lamb shanks, hearty beef stews, rich wild boar ragù, grilled red meats, or a selection of aged pecorino cheeses.
