The Story

A magnificent Central Italian red wine displaying an incredibly deep, concentrated ruby-purple hue with sophisticated garnet bricking along the rim. Hailing from the legendary, cool-climate 2010 vintage, this rare 100% monovarietal expression has evolved beautifully over more than a decade of cellaring. The complex nose opens with an exotic, deeply mature bouquet of dark prunes, blackberry preserves, melted road tar, and dried rose petals. The savory profile is beautifully layered with refined, tertiary regional notes of wild game meat, damp forest floor, wet terracotta, cedar wood, and sweet pipe tobacco. On the palate, it balances a powerful, highly concentrated fruit core and a remarkably vibrant, linear alpine acidity with formidable, structural tannins that have softened into a dense, velvety grip, leading into an exceptionally long, savory, and mineral-driven finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with robust wild game dishes, slow-braised venison stew, wild boar ragù, and thick-cut grilled T-bone steaks.

90 Points - Wine Spectator

Offering a dark well of black cherry, blackberry, leather and spice flavors, this red features formidable tannins but remains balanced, with bright, saturated fruit and a rich texture. The grip holds up to grilled steak. Best from 2016 through 2025.
