The Story

A magnificent Central Italian red wine displaying a deep, concentrated ruby red color with subtle garnet overtones. Hailing from the widely celebrated, warm, and sun-drenched 2015 vintage, this classic expression opens with an opulent and generous bouquet of ripe dark plums, wild blackberry preserves, and macerated cherries. The complex nose is beautifully layered with sweet regional nuances of cured tobacco, dark chocolate, worn leather, cloves, and dry Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it balances a broad, richly textured, and full-bodied fruit core with a reliable, balancing mountain acidity and heavy-set, velvety tannins, culminating in an exceptionally warm, persistent, and savory finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with prime cuts of roasted red meat, slow-braised wild boar or venison, rich truffle dishes, and long-aged Pecorino cheeses.

94 Points - James Suckling

Lots of ripe berries, plums and cherries with hints of toffee and chocolate on the nose. It’s full-bodied with round, juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Lots of ripe tannins. A rich, structured Brunello. Needs time to soften. Better after 2023.

92 Points - Wine Spectator

The core of cherry and plum flavors is shaded by tobacco, spice and woodsy notes in this firm, dry red. Exhibits a Mediterranean feel, with wild herb and sun-baked loam accents on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2042.
