Remus Repeal Reserve Series VII 2023 Medley is a masterful limited-edition bourbon crafted to commemorate the anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. Produced at the historic Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, this seventh installment of the highly acclaimed series features a meticulously blended medley of five rare high-rye bourbons aged between 9 and 16 years (distilled in 2007, 2013, and 2014). By perfectly balancing two of their signature high-rye mash bills, the master blending team created a robust, complex, and deeply sophisticated whiskey that showcases the very best of their mature reserves.
Food Pairing: This rich, high-rye bourbon pairs exceptionally well with a slice of classic pecan pie, dark chocolate truffles, candied bacon, or a well-aged cheddar cheese to complement its spicy and sweet profile.
TASTING NOTES - A dark, rich amber liquid that feels deeply viscous and warming in the glass, hinting at its well-aged complexity.
NOSE - Highly aromatic and inviting, leading with aromas of caramelized pecans, rich maple syrup, and candied cherry, backed by subtle notes of brown butter and a hint of old leather.
Palate - Big, round, and impressively balanced. Initial flavors of rich caramel, maple, and brown sugar give way to a candied cherry sweetness, layered with barrel char and a vibrant, peppery cinnamon spice.
FINISH - Long, robust, and warming, featuring an intense wave of cinnamon and peppermint spice that gently fades into lingering notes of vanilla, dark caramel, and toasted oak.
SERVE - Best enjoyed neat in a Glencairn glass to fully appreciate its complex aromas and layered flavors, or with a single large ice cube.
