The Story

Poplar Grove 'Library Collection' Merlot is an exceptionally structured, graceful, and beautifully cellared icon red wine that showcases the magnificent aging potential of the Naramata Bench. Released exclusively from the winery's private cellars after extended, professional bottle maturation, this complex red wine displays an alluring bouquet of dried black cherries, dark plum, and marzipan, complexed by elegant notes of eucalyptus, toasted vanilla bean, and sweet mountain sage. On the palate, it exhibits a medium-bodied framework where a plush, generous core of dried cherry, black pepper, and dark fruit flavours is framed by a lively vein of natural acidity and completely integrated, velvety tannins developed over 21 months in traditional French oak barrels. It culminates in a long, harmonious, and highly polished finish accented by subtle undertones of coffee, dark chocolate, and a lingering, savory Okanagan mineral complexity.

Food Pairing: Pairs spectacularly with rosemary-crusted grilled lamb chops, charcoal-grilled dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted duck breast, or slow-cooked savory beef brisket.
