The Story

The Poggio Argentiera Vermentino (often labeled under its Guazza or classic Toscana IGT designations) is a bright, energetic, and highly refreshing Italian white wine that captures the pure maritime essence of the southern Maremma coast. It pours a clear, pale straw-yellow colour with brilliant greenish highlights in the glass, lifting with an immediate, aromatic bouquet of fresh lime zest, grapefruit, and wild field daisies, woven with notes of ripe peach, mango, and a touch of herbal elderberry. On the palate, this light-to-medium-bodied wine is exceptionally clean and fruit-forward, delivering a crisp, lively texture packed with upfront flavours of tangy citrus and stone fruit. Fermented entirely in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures to protect its vibrant profile, it is driven by a finely balanced acidity and trails off into a pleasantly savory, mouth-watering finish defined by a clean, salty mineral snap.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with fresh seafood appetizers, raw oysters with a squeeze of lime, grilled shrimp skewers, pan-seared sea bass, spaghetti alle vongole, light garden salads, and fresh goat cheeses.
