The Story
An exceptional, full-bodied, and deeply expressive Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port crafted by the iconic house of Niepoort from low-yielding, old field blend vineyards in the Cima Corgo region of the Douro Valley. Foot-trodden in traditional granite lagares and aged for four years in large wooden vats, this wine combines the rich, muscular intensity of a classic vintage Port with the approachable smoothness of extended wood maturation. It displays a dark, opaque ruby color, opening with a complex bouquet of ripe black cherries, dark plums, and wild blackberries, beautifully intertwined with notes of dark chocolate, balsamic, mint, and a hint of white pepper.
Food Pairing: Outstanding when paired with rich dark chocolate desserts, hot chocolate fondants, mature blue-veined cheeses like Stilton, or roasted venison and wild game.
