The Story
A beautiful, terroir-focused organic white wine crafted by visionary winemaker Mateus Nicolau de Almeida. Part of the unique "Eremitas" project designed to highlight the diverse schist soils of the Douro Superior, this wine comes from a parcel dominated by grey schist with veins of quartz at an altitude of 500 meters. Made entirely from the native Rabigato grape, it is foot-trodden in a traditional granite calcatórium before undergoing spontaneous fermentation and a one-year maturation in underground concrete vats.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with fresh seafood, grilled white fish, light summer vegetable risottos, or assorted Mediterranean tapas and hummus.
