The Story

A magnificent and iconic single-varietal Tuscan red wine, celebrated globally as the definitive benchmark for Italian Syrah. Crafted by the pioneering Tenimenti Luigi d'Alessandro estate from old, premium vine parcels planted in the late 1990s across the clay-limestone hillsides of Cortona, this 2019 vintage showcases the legendary heights of an exceptional growing season. Fermented carefully in oak with partial whole-bunch inclusion and matured for 24 months in French oak barrels followed by an additional year of bottle refinement, it displays an impenetrable dark ruby profile. The expansive, deep-set bouquet bursts with savory aromas of blackcurrants, dark morello cherries, and wild blueberries, layered over complex, sophisticated notes of ground espresso beans, dark cacao, smoky iron, and cured lard, finished with a classic crack of black and white pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied, dense, and remarkably vibrant, framed by beautifully integrated, chewy mineral tannins and a long, lightly spiced finish built for long cellaring.

Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with spit-roasted rosemary lamb, thick-cut Fiorentina steak, grilled venison loin, slow-braised wild game ragù, or rich, mature cheeses.
