The Story

Long Shadows Poet’s Leap Riesling 2014 is an elegant and beautifully expressive Columbia Valley Riesling inspired by the great wines of Germany and crafted in collaboration with acclaimed winemaker Armin Diel. This refined off-dry Riesling reveals vibrant layers of key lime, citrus peel, white peach, pear, honeysuckle, wet stone minerality, and subtle honeyed undertones. Bright natural acidity and a delicate touch of residual sweetness create a polished, lively palate with exceptional balance and a long refreshing finish.

Food Pairing: Spicy Thai cuisine, sushi, pork tenderloin, glazed ham, shellfish, fresh goat cheese, Asian noodle dishes, and lightly spiced poultry.

91 Points - Wine Spectator

Silky, lively and elegant, with layers of pear, citrus, wax and floral flavors in lovely proportion, finishing harmoniously and slightly off-dry. Drink now through 2022. 4,240 cases made.

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Also outstanding, the 2014 Riesling Poet’s Leap is another white that perfectly balances its juicy acidity and nicely integrated sweetness. Quince, green apples, lychee and mint all emerge from this medium-bodied, crisp, elegant Riesling that’s drinking great today. It’s amazing to see the freshness and purity that this team is able to get, even in these record-breaking hot vintages.

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast

This warm-vintage wine is more aromatically reticent than recent vintages, with notes of stone fruit, slate and mineral. It drinks a hair off dry, with depth to the lightly spritzy fruit flavors and razor-sharp acidity.
