The Story

The second wine of Château Pichon Baron showcases vibrant aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, cedar, graphite, and violet. Elegant and approachable, it delivers silky tannins, fresh acidity, refined structure, and impressive depth while expressing the classic character of Pauillac with youthful charm.

Food Pairing: Pair with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, mushroom risotto, aged Comté, braised short ribs, or truffle potatoes.

92 Points - James Suckling

A medium-bodied red with currants, smoked tobacco and some graphite character. Chewy and juicy. Plenty of fruit and intensity. Drink after 2021.

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast

90–92. Barrel Sample. This wine is soft, fruity and generous in texture. It has spice, a rounded structure and layers of gentle tannins. Dark in color, the fruit is bright and warm. The wine will develop quickly and will be ready to drink from 2021.
