The Story
Gulfi Valcanzjria Bianco 2024 is an exceptionally vibrant, energetic, and multi-layered organic white wine that beautifully captures the unique Mediterranean microclimate and high-altitude terroir of southeastern Sicily. Sourced from the calcareous, clay-rich soils of the historic Vigna Muti vineyard in Chiaramonte Gulfi at 400 meters above sea level, this pale straw-yellow blend with greenish highlights uncoils with an inviting, highly expressive bouquet of crisp green apples, ripe white orchard fruits, and elderflower, seamlessly layered with complex undertones of fresh citrus zest, chamomile, jasmine, and a touch of saline minerality. On the palate, it exhibits a beautifully balanced, medium-bodied framework driven by a concentrated core of white peach, honeyed pear, and subtle hints of anise. Its natural, refreshing line of acidity from the native Carricante is effortlessly fleshed out by the aromatic richness and roundness of the Chardonnay, gliding seamlessly into a long, harmonious, and remarkably clean finish marked by a characteristic trace of bitter almond.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with raw seafood carpaccio, pan-seared sea bass with herbs, light pasta with pesto, grilled summer vegetables, or fresh sushi.
