Glenmorangie 'The Original' 12 Year Old is the recently elevated flagship expression of the Glenmorangie Distillery, aged for an additional two years compared to its classic 10-year-old predecessor to bring even more silkiness and complexity to its famously delicate profile. Matured exclusively in first and second-fill American white oak ex-bourbon casks, it perfectly embodies the classic floral and fruity house style. Distilled in Scotland's tallest stills, this beautifully balanced single malt delivers an extraordinarily smooth, approachable, and vibrant whisky experience.
Food Pairing: This light and elegant single malt pairs wonderfully with delicate seafood dishes like seared scallops or sushi. It also beautifully complements soft, creamy cheeses like Brie or fruit-based desserts such as peach cobbler or a zesty lemon tart.
TASTING NOTES - A pale, bright lemon gold. The texture is famously silky, smooth, and elegantly light on the palate.
NOSE - Highly fragrant and inviting. Bursting with bright citrus notes of lemon and mandarin, layered with sweet vanilla, ripe peaches, and delicate floral aromas of geranium and wild mint.
PALATE - Exceptionally smooth and creamy. A symphony of sweet vanilla, honey, and creamy toffee is perfectly balanced by vibrant bursts of sweet orange, peaches in syrup, and a gentle, herbaceous undertone.
FINISH - Clean, crisp, and lingering. The sweet vanilla and fruity notes gently fade, leaving a satisfying aftertaste of orange zest and sweet honey.
SERVE - Excellent enjoyed neat, over a large cube of ice, or with a tiny splash of pure water to release the full bouquet of floral and citrus notes.
