The Story
G4 Añejo Madera (Día de Muertos Edition) is an extraordinary, highly collectible, limited-edition release crafted by legendary master distiller Felipe Camarena at the revered El Pandillo distillery (NOM 1579). What sets the "Madera" (wood) line apart is its unique fermentation process; rather than standard stainless steel, the agave juices are fermented entirely in deep pine wood vats, imparting an incredible, rustic depth to the spirit. Distilled from 100% Blue Weber agave using a 50/50 blend of harvested rainwater and natural spring water, this expression is then aged for over a year in very old, exhausted American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a highly complex, earthy, and herbaceous Añejo that honors the agave rather than overpowering it with heavy oak. Presented in a stunning, custom wooden display box to celebrate Día de los Muertos, the nose offers deep roasted agave, rich vanilla, and a distinct forest-floor earthiness. The palate is brilliantly balanced, delivering waves of sweet caramel, warm cinnamon, roasted nuts, and a touch of pine, leading to a long, beautifully sweet, and mildly spiced finish.
