The Story

Nestled at the heart of the Cristom Estate, the Marjorie vineyard rises gently from 480 to 600 feet across distinctive volcanic terrain. Its moderately deep volcanic soils—punctuated by rocky patches in the northern and southeastern sections—create ideal conditions for refined winemaking. This distinctive terroir yields wines of grace and sophistication, showcasing vibrant red fruit notes and crisp, refreshing acidity that defines the vineyard's character.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with pan-seared duck breast, roasted pork tenderloin, wild mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, or an artisanal selection of creamy, soft-ripened cheeses.

95 Points -

Dark ruby, the 2021 Pinot Noir Marjorie Vineyard takes on a darker mineral profile with forward aromas of wet stone, black raspberry preserve, and layers of baking spices and crushed purple flowers. Moving to the palate, the wine is medium-framed, with ripe tannins, an angular texture, fresh acidity, and a spicy finish. This certainly needs more time and will gain complexity with time in cellar.

94 Points -

The 2021 Pinot Noir Marjorie Vineyard was fermented with 46% whole clusters. It has broody aromas of black cherries, peppered salami, forest floor, potpourri and bitters. The medium-bodied palate is bursting with savory, spicy layers. It's structured by powdery tannins and bright acidity and has a long, spicy finish.

94 Points -

Aromatically, Marjorie is a big bowl of blueberries with a cherry cupcake on the side. Tart red cherry and lemon verbena tea flavors are punctuated by notes of dark chocolate and candied rose petals. Brilliant acidity and fine-grained tannins make this wine “pop.”
