The Story

A distinguished Pauillac renowned for concentrated cassis, blackberry, graphite, cedar, tobacco, and violet aromas. Rich yet impeccably balanced, it delivers silky tannins, vibrant freshness, refined structure, and exceptional depth with outstanding aging potential.

Food Pairing: Pair with beef Wellington, roast lamb, venison, duck breast, truffle dishes, aged Comté, or wild mushroom risotto.

94 Points - Decanter

Ripe, dark and fragrant fruit on the nose—dark plums, cherries, damsons and blackberries with a dusting of dark chocolate, showing both coolness and hints of floral sweetness. Smooth and rounded, with a full texture, slightly chewy, plush tannins and a fleshy, mouth-filling palate. Ripe strawberries and chewy blackcurrants are joined by saline, stony minerality and fine grip. Nuanced and layered, this is a compelling expression with excellent acidity bringing freshness and vibrancy. A complete, refined wine with finesse rather than overt exuberance.

94 Points - James Suckling

This is a very good wine from a difficult year. The nose is fresh, with paprika aromas and no herbal notes. Juicy and medium- to full-bodied with fresh, fine-grained tannins and a bright finish. 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 1.5% Petit Verdot and 1.5% Carménère.

94 Points - Vinous

The 2021 Clerc Milon is another fine effort from the château. It offers an alluring mix of fruit raciness and savory character from the Cabernets. Grilled herbs, graphite, mint, lavender and leather add layers of nuance. The long, persistent finish is a thing of beauty. Clerc Milon has been on the rise of late. – Antonio Galloni

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2021 Clerc Milon has turned out very well indeed, offering up aromas of dark berries and minty cassis mingled with hints of violets and pencil shavings. Medium- to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's impressively deep and layered, with an ample core of fruit, lively acids and sweet, chalky tannins.

93 Points - Wine Spectator

Bramble, hedgerow, smoke, tobacco, chocolate, licorice-laced black fruits and graphite define the nose. The palate adds coffee, cedar, clove and cinnamon alongside plush layers of concentrated blackcurrant and black cherry fruit with racy acidity. The 59% Cabernet Sauvignon takes center stage, while 10% Cabernet Franc lends fragrance and lift. Refined and elegant, with superb structure, freshness and length. An excellent Clerc Milon. The blend includes 1.5% Carménère and 1.5% Petit Verdot. 3.73 pH. Drinking Window: 2025–2045.

92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

I loved the 2021 Château Clerc Milon, a gem of the vintage that brings impressive richness and depth. Black cherries, graphite, smoked herbs and lead pencil define the aromatics. Medium- to full-bodied, with a layered mouthfeel and beautiful tannins, it captures the fresher style of the vintage while still delivering impressive concentration and depth. Give it a few years, then enjoy it over the following 15+ years. The blend is 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, with the balance Petit Verdot and Carménère.
