The Story

A distinguished Pauillac renowned for concentrated cassis, blackberry, graphite, cedar, tobacco, and violet aromas. Rich yet impeccably balanced, it delivers silky tannins, vibrant freshness, refined structure, and exceptional depth with outstanding aging potential.

Food Pairing: Pair with beef Wellington, roast lamb, venison, duck breast, truffle dishes, aged Comté, or wild mushroom risotto.

93 Points - James Suckling

Slightly cooked fruit on the nose, with toasted oak and meaty character. Full-bodied, with round, chewy tannins and loads of fruit. Big and burly, yet very appealing.

93 Points - Wine Spectator

Loads of licorice and currant flavors follow through to a full-bodied palate with plenty of refined tannins and a long, lingering finish. Very structured and layered. Better than the 2000.

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The dense ruby-purple 2003 is surprisingly fresh and crisp, displaying no signs of the vintage’s extreme heat. Full-bodied, powerful, rich and still youthful, it offers notes of Chinese black tea, crème de cassis, licorice and melted chocolate. Give it 4–5 more years of cellaring, then enjoy it over the following two decades.
