A rare and refined unpeated Islay single malt, the Bruichladdich 30 Year Old is drawn entirely from handpicked, exceptionally rare ex-bourbon casks. Featuring spirit distilled in the early 1990s—before the distillery was temporarily mothballed in 1994—this release is a true piece of Bruichladdich history. Matured entirely on Islay for three decades, this elegant expression showcases a delicate complexity, bringing forward a beautiful harmony of toasted oak, honey, soft vanilla, and the distillery's signature coastal maritime character.
Food Pairing: Delicate seafood dishes like seared sea scallops in brown butter or fresh lobster, mild and creamy cheeses such as young brie, and elegant desserts like a vanilla bean panna cotta or a white chocolate and toasted coconut tart.
TASTING NOTES - A pale gold appearance in the glass with a soft, silky, and elegantly rich mouthfeel that perfectly balances sweet and savory characteristics.
NOSE - The gentle influence of oak opens with notes of sweet coconut, Brazil nuts, and vanilla, followed by subtle floral aromas of geranium and rose, pear drops, candied lemons, and a soft whisper of cinnamon.
FINISH - Long, vibrant, and incredibly complex, featuring a distinct tang of Islay sea salt balanced beautifully with warm toasted oak, while sweet coconut, fudge, and soft vanilla linger gently.
SERVE - Best enjoyed neat in a glencairn glass to fully appreciate its immense depth, delicate floral profile, and three decades of unhurried maturation.
