The Story

A premium and wonderfully elegant Tuscan red wine from the highly acclaimed, classic 2013 vintage that delivers a beautifully balanced and structured tasting experience. The palate is dry, medium-to-full-bodied, and deeply layered, unfolding with vibrant flavors of crunchy red cherries, wild strawberries, and dark plums. These expressive fruit layers are seamlessly interwoven with sophisticated notes of leather, licorice, underbrush, and fresh violet petals, accented by earthy undertones and a touch of fine wood spice. It features a refined, tightly knit mouthfeel framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and supported by a striking, vibrant vein of traditional Sangiovese acidity. The finish is remarkably long, dry, and balanced with an appetizing savory persistence.

Food Pairing: Pairs magnificently with grilled Bistecca alla Fiorentina, roasted lamb with rosemary, wild boar ragù, and aged hard cheeses like Pecorino Toscano.

94 Points - James Suckling

The rose petal and cherry character really come through. Full body, layered and spicy. Orange peel. Flavorful finish. Shows structure and intensity. I love the texture. Drink in 2019.

92 Points - Wine Spectator

Shows intense, ripe cherry flavors, bordering on jammy, yet stays fresh, courtesy of the bright acidity and dense tannins. Young yet well-proportioned, with a lingering aftertaste of earth, graphite and tobacco. Best from 2022 through 2036. 7,500 cases made, 3,000 cases imported.
