This limited-edition 2023 release is a prestigious collaboration between Blackened Whiskey and Rabbit Hole Distillery as part of the "Masters of Whiskey" series. It is a masterfully crafted blend of a 13-year-old Tennessee straight bourbon and Rabbit Hole's own Heigold High Rye Double Malt Kentucky straight bourbon. After blending, the whiskey undergoes Blackened's proprietary "Black Noise" sonic-enhancement process—where low-hertz sound waves from Metallica's music pulse against the casks—before being finished in Calvados apple brandy casks from Normandy, France. The result is a robust, cask-strength bourbon with a complex profile of ripe pear, honey, and cinnamon on the nose, leading to a palate of dark chocolate, toasted oak, and baked apple with a lingering, spicy finish.
