The Story
Bedford Park Tormore 29 Year Old (1995 Vintage) is an exceptionally elegant and highly limited single cask independent bottling representing the third release in Bedford Park’s "Chess Series" ("Bc2" Black Bishop). Distilled in Speyside in 1995, this single malt spent nearly three decades maturing in a refill hogshead before receiving a rich finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead in 2023. Bottled in 2025 at a natural cask strength of 43.6% ABV with a minuscule outturn of just 153 bottles, it delivers a highly integrated profile that perfectly balances Tormore's fruity distillate with active sherry wood. The nose opens with fresh leather, walnuts, green apples, and cinnamon, leading to a rich palate of tobacco, polished wood, toasted pecans, and blood orange, before concluding with an exceptionally long, drying finish accented by kiwi, honeydew melon, and gentle oak tannins.
