The Story
The 2022 Armand Heitz Bourgogne Rouge is an elegant and lively entry-level Pinot Noir that reflects the warmth of the Mediterranean-like growing season in Burgundy. It presents a brisk purple-ruby colour and opens with fragrant aromas of fresh red cherries, wild strawberries, and raspberries, complemented by hints of violet, orange zest, and a touch of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-light bodied and fruit-forward, showcasing a refreshing acidity and fine, silky tannins. Utilizing a high percentage of whole-cluster fermentation and aged primarily in neutral barrels to preserve its primary fruit character, it offers a smooth, velvety texture and a clean, vibrant finish with subtle spicy nuances.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with roasted chicken with herbs, duck breast with a berry reduction, wild mushroom risotto, or mild and creamy cheeses like Camembert and Brie.
