The Story

This Bordeaux blend from three incredible Napa Valley vineyards bounds from the glass with notes of fresh mountain blueberries and toasted nutmeg. Jasmine flower and toffee draw you deeper into the glass. Plush and voluptuous, this decadent effort combines the brute force of our Tench Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with the curvaceous nature of our Sugarloaf Vineyard Merlot and the intensity of the Erba Vineyard Petit Verdot.

Food Pairing: Pair it with braised beef short ribs, grilled ribeye steak, or wild boar ragu to match its opulent, full-bodied structure.

Coming from a mix of noteworthy sites in the valley and mostly Cabernet (there's some Merlot in the blend, I believe), the 2018 Napa Valley Red Wine sports a dense purple color to go with a full-bodied, opulent, monster of a wine that carries loads of red and black fruits, notes of spiced meats, dried tobacco, and chocolate, ripe tannins, integrated oak, and a wonderfully mouth-filling texture. This is about as opulent and sexy as 2018 gets and it's well worth seeing out. It's going to put a smile on your face any time over the coming 15-20 years.

The 2018 Napa Valley Red Wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it rolls out of the glass with vibrant blackcurrants, black berries and warm plums scents, plus hints of damp earth, garrigue and menthol. The intense, medium to full-bodied palate has finely grained, approachable tannins and lovely freshness lifting the vibrant black fruit to a long finish.
